Concurrent Enrollment

Concurrent Enrollment Programs

These are programs that allow students to be enrolled at another campus and/or maintain a connection to UCR. Each requires prior approval, as defined in the specific section below.

Concurrent Enrollment via UCR Extension Center

Step 1:

Obtain Concurrent Enrollment Form from the UCR Extension Center.

Step 2:

Fill out the form; use the Online Schedule of Classes to obtain call numbers for desired courses. Include all components for the course, i.e. lecture (LEC), lab (LAB), discussion (DIS), workshop (WKP), etc. Use a separate form for each course. The Online Schedule of Classes can be found here

Step 3:

Obtain appropriate signature for the instructor. Instructors for the Bourns College of Engineering (BCOE) and the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS) courses will NOT sign forms on their own behalf. The BCOE Student Academic Affairs office will sign ALL forms for BCOE courses on behalf of both the instructor and the Associate Dean. The CNAS Enrollment Management Center will sign forms on behalf of the instructor for CNAS courses. See this link for information, location, and contacts.

Step 4:

For fastest access to iLearn and computer labs, request an iLearn access form from University Extension. Complete the form for each course. Bring the form to Bourns A159 immediately. An advisor will sign the form upon delivery. Take the form back to UCR Extension for payment and processing. You will be granted temporary guest access while you wait for a decision on your ability to enroll in the course(s).

Step 5:

Registering concurrently into any BCOE course, excluding CS 005, CS 006 or CS 008, requires submission of a grade history report or unofficial transcript to verify prerequisites have been completed.

Step 6:

If you are working towards Readmission, submit your concurrent enrollment form to the appropriate College that houses the major you are trying to pursue for a signature on behalf of the Associate Dean

Notes:

A. When submitting forms to BCOE Student Academic Affairs, please be sure to time stamp your form. Forms are processed in the order they are received. Forms are accepted starting on the first (1st) day of instruction.
B. Securing an instructor's signature for a BCOE course does not guarantee that you will be enrolled in the course.
C. BCOE Student Academic Affairs processes all forms starting on Wednesday of the third (3rd) week of each quarter. Students must return to the main office (Bourns Hall A159C) to pick up forms after 1:30 pm on this date. You will not be notified that your form is ready.
D. Students are allowed to enroll in a maximum of three (3) courses per quarter.
