Professional Development

It’s never too early to start thinking about your career. There are lots of elements that go into making you more employable, and there are lots of resources and opportunities at UCR to begin working those muscles. Build your leadership skills, grow your circle of contacts, develop your interpersonal skills – learn to impress! It’s not so hard if you know how.

At Bourns College of Engineering, one of our objectives is to nurture and grow our students into professional engineers of the future. Our students and graduates are exceptionally qualified to pursue employment opportunities, not only because of their academic preparation, which includes a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum, but also because of their professional development preparation, which includes participation in the Professional Development Milestones, IMPACT (Industrial Mentorship in Professional Advancement and Career Training), career preparation, undergraduate research programs, and professional organization student chapters.
